As a new year commences we are provided with the opportunity to re-set and establish some new goals for the coming year.
Here are some tips for effective goal setting this year.
- Just do it
- Find the time to sit down for an hour or two and work out your goals. You may wish to set an annual goal and then break that down into smaller targets.
- Plan
- Once you establish your goals- spend another hour or two creating an action plan. Break it down into smaller action steps.
For example – If your goal is to increase your enrolment base by 100 students by the end of the year- How will you do this? What actions will you take to generate more leads and close more sales?
- Write your goals down
- A number of very successful people write out their goals each and every day. This might be over the top but the idea “out of sight, out of mind” is true. Find a way to be reminded of your goals each week whether that’s writing them out or having them posted on a wall.
- Review
- Schedule time to review your goals and progress every quarter. Are you on track to hit your targets? What have you learnt? How can you adjust your plan to increase your chances of success?
Here are some good questions to help frame your swim schools goal-setting process.
- What is your current enrolment base?
- What would you like your enrolment base to be by the end of the year?
- How many new sales are you generating each month? How can you increase this?
