When a new member joins your health club, they often go through a significant learning process. If they have had limited experience in a gym before it can be like learning to drive for the first time. Therefore, it is important to provide educational aids to support members in their learning.
When a member receives a workout program for the first time, a trainer will typically take them through each exercise in the program. However, for a new member completely foreign to weight training, these exercise names and movements can be quickly forgotten.
By providing educational aids that help re-enforce learnings, you can help your members build momentum and get results faster.
An example of this is in FitDesk’s member’s workout portal. Included in the portal are images of each exercise in a member’s workout program which help prompt the members memory of how to complete the exercise.
A limitation of a static image is that for more comprehensive exercises it can often not clearly demonstrate the movements in the exercise.
This limitation can be overcome by the use of moving images to illustrate and exercise movement.
FitDesk’s exercise GIF feature, shows a clear moving video of each exercise in a members program.
This helps clearly re-educate a member on how to do an exercise if they have forgotten.
